St. John Chrysostom School is a Catholic parish school in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The school operates under the spiritual guidance of its pastor, Father Joseph P. McGeown and the educational leadership of its principal, Dr. Carol Ann Luongo. In consultation with the faculty, they work to create a nurturing, spiritual climate and a progressive, active learning environment.
The Archdiocesan Office of Catholic Education utilizing the Parish Elementary School Policies and Procedures Manual establishes general school policy. Information relating specific to St. John Chrysostom can be found in our School Handbook, Monthly Newsletters and Weekly Updates. The academic scope and sequence for each grade level are found in the Diocesan Guidelines. Responsibility for implementing these policies and guidelines lies with the principal. All faculty members serve on academic teams, which meet on a regular basis. These committees enable the faculty to share ideas, monitor programs, and support one another.
